I went to ASR this weekend, it’s a trade show for Skate Surf & Snow crap and clothing, it pretty much sucked. Nothing really cool to report except that Element is going to make shoes now, but you probably all ready knew that. But what you probably don’t know it that Renee Renee is putting out an album. He gave me this little sample disc, I kept in my back pocket so it got a little banged up, but I still rocked it (pics below). He’s got collaboration with “Big Black” from the DC video on there so I posted it for you’re listening pleasure…

today i cleaned my desk off.  it was not pretty folks, but it is now.  i am not afraid to hunt down any fool who thinks he can make a mess on my desk without me knowing about it.  i may be small, but i am tough.  ask meron, he’ll tell ya.  he’ll also tell you all about his good buddy elijah, but that’s for another time. that’s all for now, i’ll figure out what my job actually is and write more soon.  and remember to tell your friends, 9 star is for the ladies too ya know…

How’s it going guys? I’m real bad at this whole blogging thing, but I’m trying to get in to it.

Anyways, what I got on for was to let you guys know that interbike is coming up. This means a couple things, I get to look at all the new product coming out for the next year, and I can see my friends that I don’t really get to see that much because they live in other states and countries. Oh and it’s in Vegas, which means, well you know, I don’t have to tell you.

 When I gat back I will let you know how it was and what new stuff is coming out next year. This way you can know what’s coming out as well, cause normally you won’t find out untill an ad comes out months down the line. I’ll also take pictures so you can see the hot new product.

These are some pics from when we used to have weekends and ride a lot…and hang out a lot…now everybody has a GF and would rather go home and spank it than hangout.

So the other day Chad was skating OUTSIDE for once ( thank god ) and he was trying to pull a 360 fronside flip and got slammed. He kept talking about how he might have broken his hand or whatever so I finally went to 7Eleven and got him some Gerber…that didn’t help whatsoever. He had a homemade wrist brace on for what seemed like years, I was doubting that he even had a broken wrist anymore. So Yesterday he came to 9 Star after school and guess what? Chad had a cast on. A baby blue cast nonetheless. He was sooo happy to finally have a cast, he wanted everybody in a 10 mile radious to sign his cast, so we decided to send out an S.O.S.
20 minutes later we had Chad sitting up in the 9 Star lounge sippin on a soft drink, having all kinds of random people signing his cast. I’m sooo lucky I got to sign it ( FASHO! ). maybe nextime somebody will break a leg so even YOU can sign their cast!

Skating has a funny way of making you a more patient person. Before you go to a spot, you gotta warm up, check the spot for unwanted police/security/crack heads and other skate-related nonsense. So tonight, me and my hommie Dom from 9star hit up a little late night skate sesh down in hollywood, and we met up with my friend Andre. Andre told us about some ledge that was supposed to be real butter. We checked it out and it was solid, but as soon as we started waxing it, the transit police show up (it’s a train station), and they yell "hey!" and, just like clockwork all of us pick up our boards and started walking away. Andre tells us, hey, you just gotta wait for them to leave, then they won’t bother you for like an hour. Let’s just skate on the sidewalk till they leave.

We waited an hour for these stupid pigs to leave. Finally, at 1:30 in the morning, they left, and we had the place to ourselves. This is what went down…

So I guess if you wait for things, you’ll have fun… I’m just regretting the fact that I have class in 4 hours and it’s 3:30… in the morning. hahaha. 

A customer (an old skool skater) comes in today looking for a pair of "hardest bushings" that we sold. I opened the skate case and give him a pair of the doh doh bushings, they were the white ones and according to the back of the wrapper it said that white ones were the "really hard" ones. so far everything was cool until Chad (one of the groms that hangs out at the shop) says "don’t give him the white ones, the black ones are the hardest ones". So the customer looks at me a little unsure of the product that I just gave him and I think he was waiting for me to re-assure him that he did indeed had the hardest bushings. So I re-assured him and send him on his way to the registers. When the customer walked away, I had a lil’ chat with Chad and told him not to jump in when I’m making a sale and that it doesn’t look professional. His response was "dude, but the black ones are the hardest bushing!"

 Now, let me back track a bit. When I looked at the plastic warpper, there were four colors and hardnesses and none of the colors were black. So I naturally did not even bother to look to see what the black ones that Chad insisted that were "the hardest bushings" are all about. knowing that I could never be wrong and wanting to shut Chad down for trying to battle me on skate accesory knowledge, I proposed a bet! the bet was that if the black ones were actually the hardest bushings, then Chad can pick out any deck from the shelf, but if the black ones were not the hardest ones, then I take his deck away from him! My main goal was to bluff him out, after all his own skateboard was on the line. So he said he didn’t really wanna bet (smart kid). But I didn’t let it go and persisted that he should put his money where his mouth is. While I was taunting him I was also reading the back of the black bushing wrapper. there was something very funny written on it (not funny at all at the time of the incident!). It went a lil’ something like this "Doh Doh’s Black the hardest bushings EVER!"  BURN!!!

 I had no choice but hook the little rascal up with the board of his choice which was a PLAN B Ryan Gallant. I have learned a lesson after all this and that’s not to ever battle any of these kids that hang out at 9 STAR, cause they know more than I do, and I work here!

After the Baker 3 Premiere, Lather and I went to the opening of some club in Hollywood and got thrown some VIP’s from The Cobrasnake. VIP was pretty dead at first, so it was easy to spot Jason, LC, Kristen and a whole bunch of other Laguna Beach kids enjoying thier pre-adulthood sippin Greygoose.

I was too much of a pansy to ask for a picture with any of them, but Lather just slid on in like he had known Kristen for years…

here’s some fine modeling by the our shop rider Mr. Andrew Crabtree. as you can see those Krew jeans are aero dynamically cut so that there is no sag and extra fabric around the ankle area, that means "give it hell kid, land that switch fakie nollie 375 flip to nose manual".

Nine Star was fortunate enough to host a video premiere for BAKER 3.  Jim Greco and Erik Ellington showed up about 10 minutes before showtime to sign autographs. Then they stayed and watched the video with us. Ellington hung out for a while after the show and skated with the kids. I have some video but I can’t figure out how to load it. It’ll be up soon.

The video was great by the way. You should buy it.

So Eric Barkhurst, our new girls-buyer Callie and I, all went to Vegas for this fashiony trade show thing called Pool. Eric and Callie were there pretty much to check out the threads and gamble, were as I went solely to party with all the weirdoes. Check out the photos from our trip…
