Digital video and Nine Star will be bringing you the premiere of F.Y.I. this saturday at Nine Star West LA at 8 pm. This video has been anticipated to drop for a while now and feature the talents of Nine Star's own Andrew Pott and Felipe Gustavo along with other skaters such as Alex Carolino, Derek Fukuhara, Fernan Origel and Nick Palmquist. Come hang out with the skaters and check out this amazing new video which will be droppingin early december. You can purchase a copy of this video the night of the premiere, be the first to have the video before it drops in stores everywhere.

The LRG team stoped by at Mission Viejo for a game of skate and an autograph signing session the other day and it turned out to be a fun day at the shop for the kids who got to hang with Adelmo jr, Chico Brenes and Rob G. Some lucky kid actually got to play a game of skate vs Chico. The team later signed autographs for the kids and had a blast themselves wanting to come back again for another demo in our Los Angeles store when the new bigger store opens in early 2010. They must have heard about the big skate ramp that will be inside the new store.

On Sunday October 18th the Nine Star skate team stopped by the Mission Viejo store to hang out and skate with the kids and it turned out to be a pretty fun jam session. Mission Viejo Nine Star is usually full of skate rats skating around and more than often a pretty noisy store with the sounds of wheels rolling, decks popping and homies dropping in the ramp but on Sunday all attentions were on Felipe Gustavo, Vitor Borger, Andrew Pott, Matty Lemond, Jeremiah Bohnet and Nate Principato skating. The team started warming up by playing a viscious game of skate. one footed trey flips, nollie forward flips, late flips, were among many other tricks were witnessed being thrown down. From the game of skate the team then moved on to the benches and the infamous Nine Star 7 Stair where Andrew Pott, Matty Lemond and Nate Principato just destroyed $hi# up while Felipe Gustavo, Jeremiah Bohnet and Vitor were getting their grind on. At the end of the day MV Nine Star skate rats were stoked on the team and they got all the autographs they needed on their Tees, shoes and decks. The Nine Star skate team will be participating at a skate demo this Sunday October 18th at 5pm at the Mission Viejo Nine Star. The skate team has been busy staking up medals and winning contests all around the country including a silver medal at the X-games for the entire team, Maloof Money Cup Am win for Felipe Gustavo, and a first place finish at Volcom's Film night battles to name a few. We also want to celebrate Andrew Pott becoming a Pro Skater for City Stars skateboards. So come out on Sunday October 18th at 5pm and meet the team and if you like to skate with the team, you can even challenge them to a game of skate. Who knows, you might even catch the eye of the team manager and get yourself a spot on the team and join the likes of Andrew Pott, Felipe Gustavo, Nate Principato, Vitor Borger, Jeremiah Bohnet and Matt Lemond.

25 Nine Star members had the privilege of skating the Plan B warehouse skatepark this week and it was made possible by Red Bull providing their double decker bus also known as "The Big Red". The kids were all pumped all week in anticipation of the trip and some even showed up an hour early to the shop on the day of the trip. After the kids showed up at the store and signed the waivers they loaded up onto the Big Red and the trip was on. Big Red courtesy of Red Bull is the ultimate vehicle for skate trips! There are big screen tv's all over the bus along with a full DJ table on the upper deck, not to mention fridges full of Red Bull all around.

With Red Bull Manny Mania Am Series events running throughout the US, bringing the event to SoCal required a little more as we hold skateboarding to higher expectations here in the mecha of the game.

So we wanted to ensure the the right riders were going to come correct, so we brought $5,000 to the table and announced $2500 to the winner.

With that info out there, everyone and their teen sister would want to jump in, but to ensure it was the right dudes, we went to all of our TM friends at each of the Board, Shoe and Clothing companies and told them this would be an Am invite only event, so nominate 2 riders to skate the event.

And you can't just have a small field to take home that kind of coin, cats need to earn it, so we decided 48 riders would round out some nice competition.

So with all that info out there, the dudes are coming out of the woodwork to display manual skills.

Lastly, what's a contest without the beats, and let me tell you, we're bringing the heat. HIERO will be in the house with a mid contest live set from DEL tha Funkee Homosapein and Bukue One. Gonna get crazy!

So wait, we hadn't ironed out the venue yet - where we gonna skate? Oh, nevermind, got it - in the streets of Downtown Long Beach. Plus, just so happens an additional 10,000 people will be milling around. We took over an entire city block for the event, and right next to where we are at is the Long Beach Funk Fest. For those into the Funk game, Mandrill, The Meters, Breakestra, Dawn Silva - insane. I know Del and I are gonna be kickin it over there a bit after the contest.

Its gonna be an insane day - See you out there.

The biggest release of the month is the Nike SB Zoom Paul Rodriguez 3, which is set to release on the 8th of August 2009 for $90. The initial release of the sneakers comes in white / black with red accents and the second in a black colorway with red accents and a safari print on the toe and heel.

The Nine Star skate team managed to bring home the Silver Medal at the X-games. The team had won silver the first year X-games decided to have the shop vs shop challenge and last year they brought home gold. The original team that was supposed to skate at the contest had to be re-figured the day of the contest because of an injury on Felipe Gustavo's foot that he obtained at the Maloof Money Cup. To make things even more interesting, two other injuries occurred to Jeremiah Bohnet and Matt Lemond in the first heat and Matt Lemond had to skate with a twisted ankle in the final. But pain was nothing new to the young gun and he skated hard regardless of how much pain he was in. At the end of the day, the team came through and show cased their talents and showed the crowds a good time. Here are some pictures of Team Nine Star at the X-games.

The Nine Skate team was booked to do a demo at the LA Live across from the Staples Center on July 25th along with P-Rod and TK. This was a kick off party for the X-Games soon to come at the end of July. Nine Star had won the gold medal last year at the X-games shop challenge, improving on the silver they won the year before. This year, we have added the talents of Mr Felipe Gustavo and the team is even stronger than before the boys expect a repeat of their gold. Come checkout team Nine Star in Action when X-Games 15 takes place at downtown LA from July 30th to August 2nd.

Over the last few months 14 different skate stores had a chance to bring all their employees and team riders for a night session at the Volcom Skatepark. Each skate store made their 90 second video clip. It was refreshing to see great shops come threw and have fun with this contest.

Some stores brought their own outfits, lights, obstacles, accessories, smoke machines and a lot more. The level of skating and editing varied from sponsor me tape quality to professional looking blockbusters. Several established and upcoming riders came out for their film night, including Guy Mariano, Justin Eldridge, Tory Pudwill, Nine Star's own Felipe Gustavo and James Craig to name a few. On Friday Volcom premiered all 14 video clips on a massive TV screen at newly painted private skatepark. There was a line outside, not to get into the skatepark, but to get free tacos, fresh off the grill.

DJ Wade was working the turn-tables, and Nihilist caused some loud chaos and beer spilling in the middle of the skatepark. All 14 video clips are up on our site and we want you to vote for your favorite clip. The voting will go on until June 1st and the winning store will win a 30 second Skate Night Commercial on Fuel TV.
